Episode 54 - This Podcast is Better than Yours

We’re exploring to benefits and challenges of living in a world where just about everything can be turned into a competition. The Beyond Sunday Team is no stranger to competition. Who doesn’t want to be seen as successful and victorious? Why wouldn’t we want to be the last one standing?

But do we ever take it too far? What happens when our desire for victory leads us to do so at the expense of others? What happens if our children are taught that the goal is always to be the best and nothing else will do?

On the other hand, many of us grew up in a world in which there were no “winners” and participation was considered victory enough. Is there a detriment to raising children in a world in which there is not push to be the “best” or to constantly be improving?
